Our Policy to Reduce Child Poverty

1. Undertake detailed research and analysis to understand the real causes, scale and impact of child poverty across New Zealand.
2. Develop practical short-term and medium-term programmes focused on reducing child poverty and improving the wellbeing of vulnerable children.
3. Work toward eliminating child poverty by supporting families with access to food, housing, healthcare, education and essential services.
4. Ensure children from low-income households are not disadvantaged in education, health, safety or future opportunities.
5. Partner with schools, charities, community groups and experts to identify where support is most urgently needed.
6. Promote policies that strengthen family stability, employment opportunities and household financial security.
7. Encourage practical long-term solutions that improve outcomes for children rather than short-term political approaches.
